Trailer Of The Week - Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes

2011's Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes emerged as one of the most pleasing franchise reboots to date, getting far more right than many expected. Based on the first full length trailer released this week, sequel Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes looks to continue on this path. Seemingly offering a healthy dose of what Rise got right whilst also introducing plenty of fresh ideas and characters, if Dawn can replicate the critical success of its predecessor it may just set the new Apes series up for a pleasing trilogy that could overshadow the inconsistent original pentalogy of the '60s and '70s. With the likes of Gary Oldman and Jason Clarke joining the franchise, the potential for greatness is definitely there.
