Trailer Of The Week - Week #50 - The Lego Movie

Trumping the Transformers movies and even Battleship as the most shameless toy franchise cash-in, The Lego Movie is an upcoming release I’d largely dismissed as child-friendly fluff thinly disguising product placement. That then changed for two reasons: firstly, I found out that it’s being written and directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller, the talent behind Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs; and secondly, I watched the trailer, which strongly suggests Cloudy wasn’t just a one-off success story for Lord and Miller by being really rather funny. With big names involved including Morgan Freeman, Liam Neeson, Will Ferrell and Will Arnett (as Lego Batman no less), this could be one to watch out for in early 2014.
