Trailer Of The Week - Week #4 - 42
Not the best name for a film which needs to educate audiences outside of the US to its purpose and history, the 42 of the title refers to the number worn by Jackie Robinson, the first player to break the black/white colour divide in baseball in 1947. Now with a second trailer even stronger than the first, this looks to have captured all of the weighty emotion it needs to, covering a difficult time in American sports, which baseball has admittedly done a lot over the years to come to terms with and positively commemorate those who met inequality head on. For those unacquainted with the story, Robinson eventually became a national hero through his perseverance and performances, leading to Jackie Robinson Day, during which every Major League player wears number 42 (thus granting Lucas Black a nice payoff line). A US release is currently scheduled for April.
