The Leeds International Film Festival has been running for over a week now and with Trailer Of The Week taking a break last week to allow more coverage, it seemed fitting to return to the festival this week with one of the films reported as a highlight by many. Las Acacias came to Leeds hot off an award-gathering outing at both Cannes and London, marking it out as a firm festival favourite. The trailer seems to hint at the slow-build melancholy of the more tasteful and quiet road trip dramas (there are some parallels with Sam Mendes' Away We Go by the look of things), although, in this trailer, some of the subtitles seem a little off. Still, with such strong backing from the festival circuit already, this will certainly be one to watch when it shows up in slightly wider release in the UK on 2nd December.
Trailer Of The Week is a regular Film Intel feature which picks a different tasty trailer of delectable goodness every week and presents it on Sunday for your viewing pleasure. Sometimes old, sometimes new, sometimes major, sometimes independent, sometimes brilliant, sometimes a load of old bobbins: always guaranteed to entertain.
