In tribute to Tim Hetherington, who was killed whilst working in Libya earlier this week, this week's Trailer Of The Week is Restrepo. Co-directed by Hetherington and Sebastian Junger, the film follows a platoon of soldiers stationed at an outpost in a notoriously dangerous part of Afghanistan. Although flawed, Restrepo is an at times remarkable work, which takes the audience closer to the real experiences of front line soldiers than arguably any documentary before it. Hetherington, who was killed alongside colleague Chris Hondros, 41, in the city of Misrata, was 40 years old.
Trailer Of The Week is a regular Film Intel feature which picks a different tasty trailer of delectable goodness every week and presents it on Sunday for your viewing pleasure. Sometimes old, sometimes new, sometimes major, sometimes independent, sometimes brilliant, sometimes a load of old bobbins: always guaranteed to entertain. If you want to make a suggestion for Trailer Of The Week, see the contact us page.
And the movie will be shown on National Geographic tonight (Monday) in honor to Tim Hetherington. Tune in if you can!
ReplyDeleteDamn, didn't see this comment in time although I did catch it last year when it was on the same channel. Hopefully some more people got to see it last night.
