Last month saw the release of The Game on Blu-ray in the UK and elsewhere. David Fincher's 1997 follow up to Seven, the film bares up to repeat viewing, whatever your opinion of its conclusion which seems to inspire as much love as it does hate. An always watchable Michael Douglas flaps around out of his depth as Sean Penn blends his character from Carlito's Way with something much more satisfying to create a sinister film which bears all the hallmarks of 'a David Fincher film'. As ever, the direction and cinematography are superb making this one a must-own on a HD format.

This, I believe, is Fincher's 'Millions'. A solid film that nobody ever remembers.
ReplyDeleteI've definitely seen it get more attention over the last few years (post ZODIAC and THE SOCIAL NETWORK) but yes you're right, it tends to get metaphorically pushed to the back for some reason.
