John Cusack returns to UK cinemas with Hot Tub Time Machine on Friday, a film which sees him go back to what he's really good at (being charming and funny) rather than attempting to lead everyone through a mess of a Roland Emmerich movie. For a reminder of how Cusack carved this niche out for himself see the trailer for Grosse Point Blank. Above and beyond being one of my favourite ever films, GPB is a rom-com with bullets, hit men, Dan Aykroyd, Minnie Driver and Alan Arkin and it's not every day you get one of those. As per last weeks Predator trailer, GPB's spoils several key plot points but does do a fantastic job of introducing you to one of the best soundtracks of the nineties. It's also in horrendous quality but does enough for you to get the idea.
Trailer Of The Week is a regular Film Intel feature which picks a different tasty trailer of delectable goodness every week and presents it on Sunday for your viewing pleasure. Sometimes old, sometimes new, sometimes major, sometimes independent, sometimes brilliant, sometimes a load of old bobbins: always guaranteed to entertain. If you want to make a suggestion for Trailer Of The Week, see the contact us page.
Best movie ever.
ReplyDeleteIt's brilliant. I've watched it so many times. This and High Fidelity are classic (and awesome) Cusack territory.
ReplyDeleteI have had this film loaded and ready to go in my DVR for months now. Perhaps it is time I finally watch it.
ReplyDeleteAwesome, awesome movie. Def need to see this again.
ReplyDeleteDanny - Yep again, can't recommend it highly enough, it's a really great watch.
ReplyDeleteAiden - Agreed. Just watching the trailer makes me want to stick it in the player... might have 2 hours free this afternoon...
